About this policy

This policy explains how Baggy handles information when you use the Baggy iPhone app and trybaggy.com. Baggy is operated by Devin Levine. For privacy questions or requests, contact support@trybaggy.com.

Information we use

  • Account information. Your name, email address or phone number, sign-in provider identifier, and authentication information needed to create and protect your account.
  • Lists and preferences. Grocery items, quantities, budgets, selected stores, pantry entries, meal plans, and household membership and setup choices you provide.
  • Chat and photos. Questions, conversation context, and photos you choose to send to Ask Baggy. If you enable grocery context, your active list, including checked items, is included to help answer your question.
  • Optional permissions. Camera and selected photo access for scanning or attachments, location when you ask for nearby stores, and notification settings and device tokens for enabled notifications. You can manage permissions in iPhone Settings.
  • Technical and support information. Network and request information such as IP address, error details and usage records needed to operate the service, prevent abuse and control provider costs, plus information you send when contacting support.

Google and other sign-in providers

If you choose Google sign-in, Google and our authentication provider, Supabase, process your basic profile, email address and account identifier. The requested scopes are openid, email and profile. Profile information can include your name and profile picture. We use this information to authenticate you, create or identify your Baggy account, and display account information.

Baggy does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts or calendar. We do not use Google account data for advertising or send it to the AI coach as grocery context. Baggy’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Apple sign-in uses the identifier and name or email Apple supplies, including a private relay email if you choose Hide My Email. Phone verification uses Supabase and Twilio to deliver security codes. Baggy does not receive your Apple or Google password.

AI chat and image processing

Ask Baggy sends your question, recent conversation context, and any attached photo through our backend to OpenRouter and the model provider serving the request. The current coach uses an OpenAI model through OpenRouter. Recipe ingredient text may also be processed to turn preparation instructions into grocery names.

Photos selected for chat are resized and re-encoded before upload. Original photo metadata, such as embedded GPS information, is removed. Your conversation and recent photo attachments are saved on your device. The backend temporarily caches replies and photo descriptions for retries and retains usage records to manage costs and prevent abuse; it does not store the uploaded photo files.

AI services process submitted content under their own privacy and retention practices. Avoid sending information you do not want processed by these services. AI suggestions can be inaccurate and are not medical or dietetic advice.

When information is shared

Members of a shared household can access the household’s shared grocery lists, pantry and meal plans. Your private chat is not provided to other household members through Baggy. Only invite people you intend to share with.

Where public list-link sharing is available, anyone with a link can view the list information included in that snapshot until the link expires. Shared copies or screenshots may remain with recipients after expiry.

Service providers process information needed for their role, including Supabase for authentication and hosted data services, Twilio for SMS verification, OpenRouter and AI model providers for AI requests, and Vercel and Cloudflare for this website and its delivery. Product or recipe searches may send search terms and selected store or area information to the relevant content services. Apple services support device features such as store search and notifications.

We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect people and the service. We do not sell your personal information or use Google account data for targeted advertising.

Storage and retention

Account and shared-list information is kept to provide the service while your account and household are active. Chat history and recent attachments remain on your device until you clear them or remove the account’s local data. Temporary server reply caches and usage records are periodically cleaned up; they are not a permanent chat archive.

Deletion can require separate removal from authentication services and application storage. Some shared household items may remain for other members, and limited records may be retained for security, legal obligations or backup recovery. Providers may process information in countries other than where you live.

Your choices and requests

You can edit your lists and preferences, clear your chat history, change device permissions, and request access, correction or deletion of personal information by emailing support@trybaggy.com. We may need to verify account ownership before carrying out a request. Use the account deletion option where available, or contact us if you signed in through a provider or cannot access the account.

You can also remove Baggy’s access from your Google or Apple account settings. Revoking provider access does not by itself delete your existing Baggy data. Privacy rights available to you depend on where you live.

Website and updates

This public website does not include advertising pixels, analytics scripts, account forms or nonessential cookies. Hosting and network providers may process connection and security logs when you visit. External links and email services follow their own policies.

We will update this page as Baggy changes, and update the date at the top. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate. Contact support@trybaggy.com with questions about this policy.
